Sustainability at the Core:
At Deaser Family Farm, sustainability isn't just a buzzword—it's a way of life. Our farming practices are designed to be environmentally responsible and resource-efficient:
Water Conservation: We use drip irrigation systems that minimize water waste and ensure that our crops receive the water they need without excess runoff.
Solar Power: Our farm is powered by solar energy, helping us reduce our carbon footprint and operate in harmony with nature. The energy generated from the sun supports both our farming and educational programs.
Organic Practices: We embrace organic and regenerative farming practices, focusing on soil health, crop rotation, and the use of natural fertilizers to promote biodiversity and sustainable yields.
Waste Reduction: Composting organic waste from the farm and using it to enrich our soil is just one way we reduce waste and close the loop on our farm's ecosystem.

Borrowing: Need to borrow goats for pasture grazing, livestock animals, or farm items let us know (meat slicer, juicer, bread maker, firepit, watering troughs, etc.).
We believe that farming is about more than just growing crops; it’s also about caring for animals. We offer a safe haven to adoption of farm animals to help sustain the property. This teaches responsibility, animal care, and the importance of humane practices in farming. Contact for additional information.

Youth Garden Bed Stewardship Program: We currently offer a unique Garden Bed Stewardship Program designed to empower children to take an active role in cultivating their own vegetables. Each child receives their own designated portion of a garden bed, where they learn to plant, nurture, and harvest a variety of vegetables. Children are encouraged to take full responsibility for their garden bed, engaging in all hands-on activities from planting seeds to caring for the plants and harvesting the produce. While parents and adult volunteers provide guidance and support, the focus is on fostering independence and confidence in the children as they learn the entire gardening process. At the end of the growing season, we host a harvest celebration where children can showcase their hard work, share their produce, and enjoy the fruits of their labor with family and friends.

Our Goals:
As a small, beginning food producer and California farm, our mission is to improve food access and distribution to early care and education sites. We are passionate about ensuring fresh, nutritious food reaches those who need it most. Currently, we're working to build a child-friendly community farm stand, provide fresh fruits at local farmers' markets, and launch educational food donation programs—all to ensure families in need have access to affordable, high-quality produce.
Where we are going...
Workshops: Attend a workshop to gain valuable knowledge about gardening, cooking, or animal care.
Volunteering: Help us plant, harvest, and maintain our crops while learning about sustainable farming practices.
Support Our Mission: Purchase fresh produce at our farm stand or donate to our food access programs to help ensure that everyone in our community has access to healthy, locally grown food.

Engaging Youth in Farming:
As a small-scale beginning farm, one of our greatest joys is giving back to the youth in our community. We believe that agricultural education is crucial for developing future generations of environmental stewards, farmers, and leaders.
Youth Mentorship & Volunteer Opportunities: Young people can join our volunteer programs, where they get hands-on experience working alongside farmers. We also offer mentorship opportunities, where youth can learn from seasoned agricultural professionals and gain skills that will serve them well in the future.
Offer farm visits: These visits are designed to inspire and equip children with the knowledge and skills to grow their own food at home or in their communities.
